Simple, Transparent, Fair, and Just

America should have a simple rules that are easy to understand. Byzantine rules create loopholes for the wealthy and lead to unintended effects. We should have:

  • A 25% flat personal income and corporate income tax coupled with:
    • A sincere effort to reduce or eliminate tax-exempt status and tax credits
    • A significant increase in funding for the IRS to ensure that all due revenues are collected
    • An additional 10% tax on all persons earning over $1M and corporations earning over $1B
    • An income tax exemption for everyone earning under $50k
  • A significant proportion of the federal budget allocated towards federal debt principal repayment
  • A commitment to having the federal budget balanced
  • The creation of a new federal agency dedicated towards guaranteeing every American a minimum income which will automatically employ all federal employees whose jobs are eliminated in order to preserve some income for them if they choose
  • The elimination of coinage in the federal mint (only paper currency should continue to be printed owing to the use of digital payment and the obsolescence of coins due to inflation)
  • A significant overhaul of our governance institutions including:
    • Restriction of fundraising for all elected offices to an amount that is equal to or less than 3x the salary of the position being sought
    • Restriction of the use of those funds to 120 days prior to the general election and 60 days prior to primary elections
    • Elimination of gerrymandering owing to the creation of non-partisan boards at the federal and state levels to draw legislative district boundaries
  • A general commitment to every American to offer basic, federally-funded:
    • Health insurance to cover the entire human body
      • Inclusive of cervical exams for men and prostate exams for women, which they won't be able to use but which they will be eligible for through the provision of only one universal health plan
    •  K-12 education for all and higher education for all with tuition at all public institutions paid for with tax dollars and the elimination of federal student loans to reduce the availability of funds for students to attend college, thus driving down the price of tuition
  • A massive influx of spending in research at all levels especially including an increase in funding for:
    • NASA to colonize the Moon and Mars, which will result in the development of new technologies that will benefit all of mankind
    • NIH for basic research
  • Immigration reform to allow more of the world's best minds and hardest workers to come to America and make their fortune
    • Specifically welcoming populations abroad who are persecuted by laws that are not in accordance with American values (e.g. women in Afghanistan, gays in Nigeria and Russia, etc.)
