Nominate a Comedian

 The Democratic Party is well-known for advancing a wonky policy agenda at the national level that has most Americans falling asleep before the candidate articulates his second plank of his agenda... [yawn]

 Why don't we take a page out of the Ukrainian politics playbook and nominate a well-known, wealthy comedian to represent the Democratic Party's bid for the White House? Putting charisma first alongside a well known brand would certainly be a different tactic for the party. 

 We've been successful with Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Joe Biden was a sincere but boring fluke that took the entire primary field to align against Bernie Sanders in order to advance Joe to the White House. 

We need someone like Al Franken who has the credentials from his time representing Minnesota in the U.S. Senate to support this kind of bid. Jon Stewart and Bill Mahr also have a progressive reputation, sharp wit, and would really breathe life into a presidential bid by the Democratic Party. Thinking outside the box is the best way to secure America from demagoguery. Give the people someone inspiring. America doesn't want to become California. We can do better than Gavin Newsom.
